History- in ancient Egypt the scarab amulet provided the wearer with protection and confidence in the knowledge of reincarnation. The shape of the sacred scarab beetle was carved in stone or moulded in faience or glass, and the flat underside was usually decorated with designs or inscriptions.
Crystal meaning- The ancient Egyptians believed that wearing Carnelian added a sense of vitality to the spirit and body and called Carnelian the “setting sun.” They wore carnelian as an amulet to ward off the evil eye. Ancient Byzantine and Assyrian cultures used Carnelian to give courage both in battle and performances. Other ancient cultures saw carnelian as a stone of good luck. In modern times known as an artist's stone, Carnelian is a rich, warm orange colour that boosts confidence, creativity and the power of true expression.
